BASKETBALL COACHES
Girls'
Program
The girls' basketball program has grown
in recent years thanks to so many volunteers that have made it stronger. Mr.
Michael O'Boyle will begin his eighth year in 2008-2009 as the girls' varsity
and junior varsity coach. He is a former sixth grade teacher and is currently the athletic director
and physical education instructor at St. Elizabeth.
Assistant coach, Mr. Richard Solis,
is an Incarnation graduate and St. Elizabeth parishioner. Coach Solis is
a longtime resident of Washington Heights and is active in several groups at St.
Elizabeth Church.
Mario Fanas ('04) is
currently volunteering his time to help the girls' team. Since graduating from
Mount Saint Michael Academy in 2008 he has enrolled in John Jay College as a
freshman.
Boys'
Program
The St. Elizabeth boys' teams are
coached under the direction of long time volunteer and former teacher Ms.
Justine Clifford. She is in her thirteenth year coaching at St. Elizabeth and
has built the boys' team into one of the most respected in the Bronx/Manhattan CYO. Her former players have gone on to play at Cardinal Spellman, All Hallows,
Xavier, Mount Saint Michael and Cardinal Hayes.
Coaching the boys' junior varsity
program this year is Ms. Shuvaun Neville, a volunteer originally from
Queens. We thank all of our volunteers for their continued support of our
basketball program.
