FEBRUARY 2010 EMAIL NEWSLETTER TO ALUMNI & FRIENDS
OF ST. ELIZABETH SCHOOL

Dear Alumni and Friends,

On Feb. 16th, Archbishop Timothy Dolan held a prayer service at St. Elizabeth Church for the Northern Manhattan Vicariate.  Over 800 parishioners and others from nearby parishes attended.

St. Elizabeth students began Lent with Mass on Ash Wednesday.  As they remember our alumni, please keep them in your prayers that they may have a holy and fruitful Lenten season.

Hope in the Heights, our hard-copy newsletter to alumni and friends, should be reaching you by next week.   Please update your email address and other current information so we can be sure you are receiving our mailings.  If you do not receive your copy, please let me know and I will send one out to you.

Plans for class reunions are moving along.

The Class of 1960 – Eileen Lynch Parker and three classmates are beginning to make plans for the 50th Anniversary which will be held in October 2010.  Place to be decided.  Please email Eileen at emp46@optonline.net or Cheryl Westre Rywak @ crywak@gmail.com for more details.

The Class of 1978 will celebrate on Sunday, April 25th beginning with the 12:30 Mass at St. Elizabeth Church. A reception will follow at school.  Please email Maritza Tribuzio at mariteach428@optonline.net

The Class of 1980 will celebrate on May 1 with a gathering in the gym and dinner to follow at a local restaurant. Please make sure we have your correct email and mailing addresses. You can email Oscar Herasme at oherasme@aol.com or Ingrid Castillo at icastom@aol.com

Plans are progressing for the dedication of the Peace Garden Play Yard in late May or early June.  Many alumni and friends asked for forms to order commemorative bricks to be placed in the Peace Garden. If you would like to order a brick in honor of a loved one, in your family name, or as a memorial to a deceased relative or friend, please email officedev@steliznyc.org for a form.

We are looking for updates on the lives our alumni for the next edition of Hope in the Heights. Please let me know about your careers, families, college life, etc.  We would love to have many items to share.
