Alumni E-Newsletter

Dear Alumni,

Hello, and happy New Year!  I hope that you and your families had a wonderful Christmas.  Here are some items you might find of interest this January.  As always, be sure to let me know if you have your own alumni news that you would like me to post using this forum.  I know there are a number of reunions in the works.

Engraved Brick Sale Ends January 31

January 31 is the last date to order engraved bricks for the Peace Garden courtyard.  Members of the Class of 1959, who have already committed to a number of bricks, have issued a challenge to other classes to participate as well!  This is a wonderful opportunity to remember a deceased family member or classmate or a special occasion.  Go to our order form at www.steliznyc.org/brickorder.pdf.

Students Invited to Attend Event with Cardinal

Three St. Elizabeth School students, their teacher, and the principal have been invited to attend a special tour of the Papal exhibit A Blessing to One Another: Pope John Paul II and the Jewish People at the Museum of Jewish Heritage on January 18.  His Eminence Edward Cardinal Egan, his secretary, the Superintendent of Schools, and students representing All Hallows High School will also be in attendance, as well as representatives from Jewish elementary and high schools.  We consider this a tremendous honor for our students.

Open House and Liturgy Scheduled

Please join us in celebrating Catholic Schools Week at the end of this month.  On Tuesday, January 30 at 9 am, there will be a School Liturgy of Thanksgiving at St. Elizabeth Church.  On Wednesday, January 31, come to the annual Open House from 9 am to 12 noon.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Send Changes of Address

The Annual Report will go out at the end of this month.  Please email me if you have moved recently, so that we can make sure you receive your copy!

Sincerely,

Jenny Kaeppner
