Last week we received the
final donations to be awarded the $20,000 Challenge Matching Grant for
the renovation of the Peace Garden play yard! With this grant from
The Endowment for Inner-City Education, over $40,000 has been raised, in
addition to previous grants and donations that we had received. Thank
you for your generosity, and we look forward to showing off the play
yard after its renovation this summer! Donations are still being
taken to help offset landscaping costs, and for other items on our Wish
List for the 2008-09 School Year. Please go to www.steliznyc.org/wishlist.asp. As part of this program, third grade
teacher Eileen Ferry works with the St. Elizabeth School Choir and
provides music instruction to students in the After School Program
several hours a week. The Neighborhood Fund Grant is sponsored
by Columbia University Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital,
and New York State Psychiatric Institute. The art work of a number of our students was recently
displayed at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New
York-Presbyterian Hospital. The event was part of the school’s
participation in the Creative Classrooms Visual Arts Program, sponsored
by the Patrons Program of the Archdiocese of New York. We congratulate them and all of our students on a
terrific year! Thank you to our alumni for your support and
prayers in making so much possible.
