The school’s Peace Garden courtyard will be developed into a playground for the students, thanks to a $34,000 grant from The Betty Barrett and Juanita Bateman Foundation. Father Joseph Sanches ‘53 was instrumental in obtaining the grant . The work
will include repair to the side wall and fencing, new benches, and the construction of a flower bed grotto using memorial bricks engraved with names of loved ones. The grant will also provide for additional play equipment for the space.Memorial benches and trees are still available, and make a wonderful legacy while supporting the project. School Receives Grant for Innovative Art Program
The school has received a grant for development of its Art Program through the Patrons Program of the Archdiocese of New York. Called the "Creative Classroom Visual Arts Program," the grant will provide an art educator who provides in-service tra
ining to regular classroom teachers, to assist them in integrating art into regular classroom instruction.Sponsor a Student
Registration for new students has begun. In the tradition of St. Elizabeth School since 1936, we hope to make it possible for parents who want a Catholic school education for their children to be able to do so regardless of their financial resources. Please join us in making this possible, by contributing to our Sponsor a Student Program at http://www.steliznyc.org/scholarship.asp. Partial gifts to the fund are also welcome and appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jenny Kaeppner
