Alumni Reunion News

Alumni from the Class of 1959 attended a reunion at the home of Bill Appel '59 on October 28, 2006, at his home in Brooklyn. Several alumni from the classes of 1958, 1960 and 1961 also attended. They came from as far away as Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, New Hampshire, Virginia, New Jersey and of course all over New York State. Those who were in town on Friday were treated to a tour of the school by Sr. Noreen Nolan, OP, the current principal. Many also went to the 12:30 Mass at St. E's on Sunday. A lot of wonderful memories were shared, and they are looking forward to doing something great for their 50th in 2009! Photos are posted at www.steliznyc.org/class-re-photos.asp.

Class of 1957 News

School Receives Gift from Retirement Account

In September, we notified you of a new law that allows donors aged 70 1/2 and older to withdraw money each year from their individual retirement accounts (IRAs) tax free if they give the money directly to a 501c3 charity, like St. Elizabeth School. At the beginning of this month, we received such a donation from an anonymous friend of the school. If you are our mystery benefactor, we would like to thank you for your generosity! Anyone interested in making a similar gift, please contact your financial institution or accountant for details.

Donate While You Christmas Shop

As a reminder as we begin the Christmas shopping season, we are partnered with a number of online vendors who will donate a percentage of your purchases to the school. Stores include Macy's, Target, eToys, NetFlix, Overstock.com, The Sharper Image, The Disney Store, and many others. You must enter their site through links on our webpage at http://www.steliznyc.org/shop.asp. Proceeds will go toward tuition assitance and operating expenses. If you shop online, you may want to add this page to your favorites!
