Alumni E-Newsletter

Dear Alumni,

Here in the northeast, the weather is growing chilly and the children are preparing for Halloween.  Be sure to check out the website www.steliznyc.org next week for pictures of them in their costumes.

St. Elizabeth in the News

This Thursday, October 27, the local ABC station in New York (channel 7) is coming to film our work with Columbia University Teachers College, as part of our New York State Department of Education Title llD Grant.  St. Elizabeth School will be video conferencing with St. Nicholas of Tolentine School in the Bronx, who will be at the Young McDonald's Farm, where they have built a robot.  We are not sure yet when the segment will be broadcast, but if you are in New York, be sure to keep an eye out for it!  It is even possible that the story might be picked up by the network.

A Sad Passing

Richard Lynch, class of 1958 passed away September 2005.   His memorial is scheduled for November 5, 2005, 12 noon, at Sacred Heart Church  in Tappan, New York.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Class Reunion News

As I mentioned last month, alumni from the classes of 1955 through 1963 are invited to a reunion hosted by Bill Appel '59.  The reunion will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2005, at his home in Brooklyn.  About fifty alums have already signed up to attend.  For more information, please email Bill at TellAppel@aol.com.

Science Center Update

The entire school community is excitedly watching the completion of the new Science Center.  We hope to be able to post photos very soon.  To allow more time for the finishing touches to be made, the dedication will be scheduled for Catholic Schools Week, in January.  Please watch for more details about this and other Catholic Schools Week events.

Please stay in touch, and may God bless you!

Sincerely,

Jenny Kaeppner
Director of Development
St. Elizabeth School

Please forward this email to any alums not already on our mailing list.  They can sign up by emailing us.  Periodic emails will be sent to notify alumni of school events and alumni services.  If you wish not to receive such notices from the school, please email the development office at officedev@steliznyc.org.
