Mary Ann Lynch, Director of Development, St. Elizabeth School
ST. ELIZABETH SCHOOL
E-MAIL MEMO TO ALUMNI
To the Alumni and Friends of St. Elizabeth School:
It is a pleasure to introduce myself to you as the new Director of Development for St. Elizabeth School. As I follow in the footsteps of Jenny Kaeppner, I realize she will be a very hard act to follow as I have spent my first week reading all her material she has passed down to me! Sr. Noreen and I have had long conversations about what wonderful, supportive alumni and friends you all are to St. Elizabeth School.
My name is Mary Ann Lynch and I have been officially in development for about five years. The unofficial part was probably before the words development and advancement were used as they are today. I became head of the Home/School Association at my daughters’ school, St. Ann’s in Ossining, and began to promote the school, find and work fundraisers, plan special events, organize volunteer efforts, and greet parents and alumni (mostly the high school students who would stop by on their way home!) So, my official title became Director of Development and I added those duties to my existing role as Early Childhood Librarian.
Reaching out on behalf of our school made me feel even more strongly what a wonderful place our Catholic schools are. Not only do we give our students an excellent academic curriculum plus special subjects, we allow them the freedom to speak about God and their faith and to become a special, integral and unique part of our Catholic school family and community.
I also work part-time with the Office of Educational Development of the Archdiocese of New York where my role is to aid our elementary schools in setting up and maintaining their development program. What a pleasure it is to join you all at St. Elizabeth’s where such a full program is in place with such a large and responsive alumni group!
I am looking forward to getting to know you. Please keep those letters and emails coming! Please send me any news, requests, questions, etc. and I will answer as soon as possible.
As we begin this new school year together, please keep me in your prayers and know that you are in mine.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann Lynch
