Alumnus and author Bill Jaenike, class of 1952, has generously offered to donate the author's commission of $9.00 for each copy of his book, The Black Robes in Paraguay, The Success of the Guarani Missions Hastened The Abolition of the Jesuits, purchased by alumni.

For more information about the book, please go to www.blackrobesinparaguay.com, which includes the Table of Contents.   Much of this true story is about the abolition, including events in Europe and the Vatican which resulted in the total abolition of the Jesuit order by Pope Clement XIV in 1773. Finally it covers how the Jesuits were reestablished by Pope Pius VII , in 1814 after Waterloo , when he was released from Napoleon's incarceration.
