Melendez, a parishioner at St. Elizabeth School, won first place in the
Archdiocese of New York's Papal Skateboard Art Contest.
In
a contest initiated by St. Elizabeth Church Parochial Vicar Father Peter
Pomposello, the contestants used papal symbols to design artwork for the bottom
of a skateboard. As the first place winner, Krystal attended the pope's
youth rally on Saturday, April 19 at St. Joseph's Seminary in Yonkers.
