SCHOOL RECEIVES GRANT FOR INNOVATIVE ART PROGRAM

June 2006 -  The school has received a grant for development of its Art Program through the Patrons Program of the Archdiocese of New York.

Called the "Creative Classroom Visual Arts Program," the grant will provide an art educator who provides in-service training to regular classroom teachers, to assist them in integrating art into regular classroom instruction.

The school will hold a culminating event to exhibit what has been accomplished.

The existing Art Program, led by teacher Melissa Hall, has weekly classes for all students in grades kindergarten through eight. There is also an art club of approximately 25 members that meets weekly for portfolio development.
