August 2008 - Sr.
Roberta McInerney, SHCJ, passed away on February 21, 2008 in Rosemont, PA. She
was a teacher at St. Elizabeth School, full-time from 1956-1960 and part-time
1967-1971. Her religious name was Mother Mary St Cecelia, to reflect her love of
singing.
Sr. Roberta entered the Society of the Holy
Child Jesus in 1953 and worked at various sites as a teacher, campus minister
and director of religious education. She retired in 2004, living in Rye, NY.
Following cancer surgery in January of this year, she was brought to Holy Child
Center in Rosemont, where she died peacefully less than a month later.
