UNIQUE OPPORTUNITIES FOR GIVING

October 2002 - Are you looking for a way to augment your support to the school? There are a number of ways you can help without spending the extra dollars.

Target School Fund-raising Program: You can designate St. Elizabeth School as the recipient of your Target Store Visa points, and each time you use your card, they will donate up to 1% of your purchase dollars to the school for technology, programs and student services. These dollars add up! Visit their website at the Target School Fundraising Program webpage, pick up an application at the store, or call (800) 316-6142 for more information.

Matching Gifts: Your employer can double or even triple the amount of your donations if they have a matching gift program. Simply pick up a form from your company’s community relations department and submit it along with your regular contribution. A partial list of companies that match is included on our Matching Gift Page, or contact your employer for more information.

Employers often match the gifts of retirees, and sometimes will even match volunteer hours at an organization with a monetary donation. Gladys Mejia-Suarez, our new business manager, volunteered a number of hours at the parish while still an employee at Verizon, and their foundation made a contribution to the school in recognition of her service.

In-Kind Gifts: When Julia Regan (‘57) won a voucher for a week-long girls basketball camp at a September 11 fund-raiser, St. Elizabeth immediately came to mind as an ideal recipient. As a result, student Yisneiry Medina received a wonderful opportunity.
