Dec 2000 - As St. Elizabeth School began yet another year of growth and expansion,
it did so with the assistance of two new very capable sets of hands.
Edward Fener joined us in March as the school’s Director of Technology. In addition to
teaching computer skills to grades three through eight, he oversees the development of
school technology, and provides the faculty with in-service training.
Mr. Fener is retired from teaching for the New York City Board of Education, where he
served as an administrator and as a high school teacher.
Elvira Nunez has been hired as Administrative Assistant to both Principal Sr. Noreen
Nolan and Assistant Principal Sr. Eileen Barrow. Among her various duties, she supports
the work of the development program, assisting with publications and serving as the initial
contact for friends of the school via telephone and correspondence. She has also been
invited to join the Advisory Board, and will work very closely with School Finances Manager
Rosie Suarez, who will continue to handle all development revenues.
Mrs. Nunez most recently worked as the Health Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisor for
the Local 840 union. She serves as a lector and as leader of the Hispanic prayer group at
the Parish; and is a member of Upper Manhattan Together, an organization which provides
leadership training for community action groups.
